Amazon sellers
I bought a dehumidifier from an Amazon reseller and the warranty is only good for the original buyer. The unit lasted 2 months and now I am out over $400 and will have to buy another one. Ebay and the seller are no help and it was not mentioned in his listing. I tried to resolve the issue with both of them but had no luck. Please make sure the warranty is transferred to you before you buy an item from an Amazon reseller, Ebay will not help.

If the seller specifically mentioned the warranty in the listing … then I’d feel free to request a chargeback from my credit card company if the item failed after only two months.

OP1 year agoTried that, they said that it was over the time limit. No one cares about the consumer's issues anymore it's all about the money. It's only going to get worse because there is no consumer protection anymore thanks to the boob in the white house.

OP1 year agoIf a seller states a warranty and doesn't honor it that should be not as described, and Ebay should do something about it. But they won't because they are making money off them.

If you purchased a third-party warranty, contact the warranty service directly.
eBay's money back guarantee, which is not a warranty, only applies in the first thirty days after receipt of the item.
Manufacturer's warranties typically only apply if you purchase the item from an authorized dealer; check with the manufacturer to see what your options are.
A warranty is only as good as the reputation of whoever offers it. A claim of a two year warranty made by a random seller on eBay is not worth much. Neither you nor eBay can force the seller to honor the warranty if the seller disappears or ignores you.
You may have some protection from PayPal or your payment method; PayPal and many credit cards may offer up to six months protection for your purchases, though PayPal has limited "not as described" returns to thirty days. After your credit card protection expires, you have few options.
