Alternative shipping how to get funds released

Question

Hello. My grandpa and I recently sold an item. He didn’t want to use the shipping label provided because he wanted to put insurance on the item. We used fedex instead and sent the buyer the shipping details. My question is how do we get the funds released if eBay isnt notified when the item is delivered. Is there a way for the buyer to contact eBay once the item is received? Again we have the shipping and tracking details so we can provide proof that it was shipped. Let me know what I should do....

You can always add tracking information to the order when you ship the item. I am not sure it will work to add it after delivery but you should try.

-- You should add the tracking number that was used when you shipped your item so you have eBay seller protection, and can get paid.

- Go to the Sold section of My eBay. https://www.ebay.com/mys/sold

- From More actions, select Add tracking number.

- Add, edit or delete the tracking number and the carrier.

- Select Submit.

If he bought a label that he didn't use, here's how to cancel (or void) an unused shipping label you purchased on eBay:

- Go to Manage shipping labels: https://www.ebay.com/ship/labels/my-ebay

- Find the item you'd like to cancel the shipping label for, then from the Actions column, select CANCEL.

- Choose your reason for canceling the label.

- Select Cancel shipping label.

You have 28 days to cancel a label. The refund will come about 21 days after you cancel.
