"Aliases"
What is the deal when I go to order or buy something from seller X and click on that item and boom the seller ID changes to someone else? Or click on the seller ID and it changes to someone else? I have been ebaying for 25 years or more and never noticed this "Aliasing" before. Now I ordered 3 identical items from three supposedly different vendors and I got one but all three are noted as delivered. This may get resolved - one vendor said his shipment went to wrong address - but I would still like to know if "Aliasing" is OK and why would people do it? Seems crooked to me.

OP1 year agoIf I try to go (click on) to "zesa-8653" it redirects to "zain1223" - that is what I mean by an alias. Never saw that before.

Mentor1 year agozesa-8653 is the username.
zain1223 is the store name of that same user.

Mentor1 year agoIt is not clear what you mean by aliasing, but I can think of a couple of things that you might be experiencing.
If you open an item listing you may be seeing the seller's store name in the listing, which can be different from the seller's username on the seller's feedback page.
Or you may be looking at a product page. Listings from many sellers may be linked to the same product page, but only one seller name appears at a time; when one sells out, the next seller's name appears in the listing.
Now I ordered 3 identical items from three supposedly different vendors and I got one but all three are noted as delivered.
Check the tracking numbers in your Purchase History and compare that to the tracking number of the item you received to see which was which.
For items that show delivery that you did not receive, contact the shipping service to see if the tracking number corresponds to a delivery to your address.
If you can obtain some hard copy documentation (email is not good enough) that says that the package was not delivered to your address or something that shows the weight or size of the package cannot possibly correspond to your item, or the shipping date precedes your order, then you may be able to contact eBay via social media, provide that documentation to eBay and get help with "false tracking".
If you go through a standard automated "item not received" case, on the other hand, you will lose the case because the seller can provide tracking that appears to show delivery. If you then appeal, you may have some additional options at that point. It appears that eBay has added a new appeal option regarding "delivery to another address", but I do not know how effective that is compared to contacting eBay via social media with documentation and explicitly mentioning "false tracking", which seems to work provided you can obtain the necessary documentation.
If you are unable to get help through eBay, you may have recourse through your payment method, though you should probably exhaust all your eBay options first since once you go through your payment method, eBay will no longer help with that transaction.

OP1 year agoI finally figured out which of the three sellers I ordered from actually sent it - he used Amazon as a fulfillment house so I got it in an Amazon box and there was a picture of it sitting on my front porch. As for the other two both are listed by USPS as delivered but one on Saturday 18 January at 2:06 PM on the front porch and the other on Saturday 18 January at 11:22 AM in my mailbox (they came twice in one day??). Have not seen either. Maybe they delivered to another subdivision - that happens sometimes here ("Deer Track" vs "Deer Hollow"). Each of these orders is for $15-$16 and I have spent way more that in time trying to figure it out - I may just eat it. I have another order for about $77 that is floating around in the mail - I hope that one comes.
Never really had any big trouble with ebay deliveries - worst one was it went to another city and I got the other guy's stuff - the carrier (forget who) made it all right.
