If you create a search for your item -- even if there are no results -- you can save the search using the heart icon on the top of the search results page and receive an email alert once per day if items matching your search are listed.
If you want to receive more frequent alerts or texts, there are third-party services that can provide that. Google automated searches eBay for some options.

Search for the item you're looking for. Then on the search results page, click Save this search.
