AI no customer service?
Am having a problem issuing a full refund to a buyer. Cost of item and the shipping fee they paid that they purchased by mistake. Will not allow me to include the shipping fee. Tried calling after a full on failure getting any information that had anything to do with my issue through AI. Received a message "outside our working hours" and the line goes dead? Waited to try calling this morning Saturday. Same issue!! Are there not any humans at customer service any longer?

OP9 months agoI did request a call back 4 times after waiting hours. No one ever called.

OP9 months agoI have been selling on eBay for 20 years so I kind of have an idea of what I am doing. It is not an old phone number. The system would not allow me to enter the buyers shipping fee that they paid, only the cost of the item.

Using the screenshot I shared with you, the most I can enter for a refund is $26.09. That is the total for the item AND shipping. If I was allowed to enter more than that, I would be refunding more than the buyer paid. (eBay refunds the tax, so it's not included in the refund you issue).

OP9 months agoI appreciate you taking the time to try and help. I understand what you saying. My issue is the total that eBay shows for refund is not correct. Something technical is the issue. Will have to request a call back on Monday because it is obvious that humans are not working. What their "hours of operation" is I have no idea.

What is wrong with the refund amount? How is the total different from what the buyer paid for the item and the shipping?

eBay does not have a customer service number for you to call. You're either trying an old number from before 2020, or it's a scammer site. To speak with eBay, you have to request a callback.
The refund amount default includes the shipping price. for a full refund, just enter the amount displayed. See example below...
