Agree on item price thru messages then buyer never buys item
Seller is contacted thru messages about an item. Buyer makes offer thru messages to Seller. Both agree and have a deal. Seller does a lot work to make deal an easy transaction. But buyer never buys. Buyer indicates his interest in item. Negotiates price with Seller but the buyer ghosts the seller.
This is unacceptable behavior. Far as I'm concerned, the transaction happened on eBay and therefore buyer must make good on purchase. Instead eBay gives the liar buyer a free pass.
What about seller? Who pays for Seller's time and effort?
This is happening more and more often.

Negotiations done through messaging and are non-binding. If you want to to negotiate, set up your listing with Best Offer and instruct the buyer to make an offer through the listing.
