Aggressive customers
Hi everyone,
I have a customer who is being a little more rude then normal because i apparently ruined their Christmas. I sent a fully working item to them having used it for almost two weeks myself to test consoles and games and they are telling me the lights flash and it doesnt work. It is a simple fix of syncing the controller to the console. I feel like i need to refuse this return because i actually did nothing wrong, any advice would be great

Did you try to help the buyer to sync the controller to the console?
If the buyer opened a case for an item that was not as described or is defective/doesn't work, you need to accept the return and then refund when the item arrives back to you. If you don't, eBay will allow the buyer to keep the item and refund him with your funds. You'll also earn a defect on your seller record for not resolving the return request.

OP7 months agoI have been trying to walk the customer through it but the only things she does is tell me I ruined Christmas so I guess I'll just bite the bullet and take the return there really needs to be a way for us to actually defend ourselves instead of being door mates to customers

Yes, in this case, just apologetically accept the return.
You don't actually know if the item is working properly or not. It could have been damaged in shipping.
Taking occasional returns is part of doing business.
Another thought...having a no returns policy (for remorse returns) pretty much forces buyers to open item not as described cases because that is the only way they can get there money back for an item they are unhappy with. Sellers who want happy buyers have a policy to accept returns. That doesn't necessarily mean you'll have more returns, but you will very likely have more sales. Many buyers (myself included, who has only returned one item in 21 years because it was defective) won't buy from sellers who don't want their customers to be happy with their purchases. Something to consider...
