Advice Needed Regarding Unauthorized Return (Forced Return)
Hello,
I need advice regarding a recent transaction on eBay. I sold a pair of shoes (size 8.5), brand new, and shipped them to the buyer. The buyer received the shoes on January 16.
On Saturday, January 30/31, my husband informed me that a package had arrived for me. When I checked, it was the same pair of shoes I had sold, returned to me without any prior contact through eBay or email.
Inside the box, there was a letter from the buyer requesting a refund, stating that the shoes were too big. My listing clearly states No Returns.
I am unsure how to proceed in this situation and would like guidance from the eBay community or support on the proper steps to protect my account and ensure that I am following eBay’s policies.
The shoes are still brand new and in the original condition as when I shipped them.

Although the Buyer did not follow proper procedures for a return, a Seller should not keep the Buyer's item and their money too.
I would refund them, minus any original shipping they paid. Then relist the shoes. By refunding them you should get most of your selling fees back.
