Advice Needed re: Signature Required on Delivery of Sale

I need some advice
I sold an item over $100
So I added the signature required for delivery
The buyer filed an item did not arrive and said to resend it without signature as they did not know when the postman comes and it was too far just leave it at the gate.
I saw that the tracking had attempted delivery.
I replied with instructions if unable to be there to sign the attemp form with instructions or contact the post office.
I then scheduled a redelivery for the next day and informed buyer.
No response
Redelivery unsuccessful.
I messaged buyer again with no response.
Advice. Please.

Ebay only requires a signature on $750+. If you want to get a signature for those sales or sales for lesser amounts, it's highly recommended that you note that in your listing.
If the Buyer let you know that signing for a $100 package was inconvenient for them and you then rescheduled the delivery, once the item is returned to you, I would refund in full for the inconvenience.
Buyers can have many legit reasons for not being able to arrange a delivery.

You only need signature confirmation for purchases of $750+. Requiring a signature on a less expensive item gives you no more protection than shipping without it, it saves you money, and it doesn't inconvenience the buyer (as it did in this case).
Your seller protection for items less than $750 is the tracking # uploaded to eBay, after you purchase the label, showing the delivery scan.

Mentor3 days agoSignature is only required for transactions over $750.
Buyer needs to sign the release form and leave out for the carrier. If item is returned to you refund only the item not the original postage.
