Advice for end/sell similar

How important is it to add "does not apply" to the UPC field if you don't have a UPC?
When filling out "Compatible Make", should I use "For LG", or "LG" as an example to satisfy the current eBay best specific practice for maximum visibility?
What else should I be doing as I end/sell similar (other than checking current comp and adjusting price as needed)?

-UPC codes: if you have them or can find them great but don't sweat the details if you don't know them. UPC codes really did not take hold until the early '80s so collectibles prior to that period never had them. Additionally, the UK had a 13 digit UPC at one time and the US has used the 12 digit UPC code.
-In general Item Specifics that are Recommended are nice to have but if you don't have them or can't find them it is not the end of the world. I typically have a lot of them but even eBay has some recommended ones listed that don't even apply to what I am selling at times. So I ignore them. One thing I find frustrating is when I check other Sellers for certain Item specifics I find they have virtually none on their listings.
-The number of Item specifics will also vary by category
