Adult Magazine Listing
Summary: ricoman1 expressed frustration about their magazine listing being repeatedly taken down by a platform, resulting in a 7-day restriction. Despite following the adult magazine listing guidelines, they noticed similar listings remain active. eastlaneave sympathized, outlining specific rules for adult magazines and acknowledging the inconsistency in enforcement. Both participants discussed the inequities in policy enforcement and difficulty in appealing decisions, particularly highlighting confusion over what constitutes 'sexual activity' in the context of adult content regulations.
Hello,
Here we go again..! Been selling here since they opened and this is getting frustrating ...
I have a listing for FIONA COOPER magazines....( eBay item number:327355233845 )
This is now a RELISTING....had 3-4 different lots,1 sold,so have relisted THIS lot several times with NO problems.
Now its been taken down AND I've been restricted for 7 days...
Doing a search right now there are 76 similar listings and 162 SOLD of same magazines.
WHY????
They didnt even put the button where you can usually appeal ,not that it ever helps...and all I get is stupid AI to help me.
Regards,
George (Ricoman1)

I am sorry your account is suspended.
Adult magazines that are allowed should be listed in "Books & Magazines > Magazines", and there are specific rules:
Adult magazines, books, and comics that contain nudity are allowed only if
✓ they don't contain sexual activity anywhere in the pages
✓ no images of nudity are showing in the listing.
✓ You must ensure that all nude persons were above the age of 18 at the time the images were produced.
In general, Playboy magazines have been allowed, while something like Hustler has not.
I am not familiar with Fiona Cooper, but it looks like some issues may have sexual activity in the pages?
“Some examples of this include Bear (magazine), Blue (magazine), Butt (magazine), Gay letter, Mayfair, On Our Backs, Penthouse, Playboy, Playgirl, and Playguy. This isn't an exhaustive list of magazines, books, and comics we allow. Any adult magazine or comic that doesn't contain sexually explicit content can be listed following the guidelines in this policy.”
Even though you may see other listings, it doesn't mean the item is allowed.
✓ It's a bit like speeding; you're not allowed to do it, but not everyone gets caught. You're still not allowed to do it, though.
Those sellers are risking their accounts by listing these items, and that can catch up with them at any time.
I know this isn't the answer you want to hear. You can find other marketplaces where you can sell these items.

OP1 week agoThanks for the reply, sorry to say the usual cut and paste like ebay sends after suspending you...a link to their policy.
Im aware of the policy....as i said, been selling here since 1998.
They WERE listed in Books/Magazines..and there is NO sex acts...its magazine of models.
What is confusing is..ok..im speeding and got caught...well it took me 10 seconds to find over 200 listed and sold...WHY did ebay not go in and suspend them all...ya know, like setting up a roadblock to stop the speeders..makes no sense if they are NOT allowed mine got taken down but not others...Its like saying,we allow Playboy..BUT..not THAT issue....
Their Adult rules are enforced depending on who is checking...ive had main stream mens magazines from the 1950's pulled..not even any nudity...! List a dozen,3 sell,3 get pulled and im suspended...relist the 6 3-4 times no problems!!
Same with adult pulp paperbacks...its like a trap shoot which ones they will allow!
Sorry, they need to stop playing games with sellers!!
Regards,
George

Some of what I wrote is from policy but a large part of it is my own words, typed as a volunteer to help my fellow sellers. Many sellers never read policy, so I always link it. I am not eBay, I am a volunteer who helps people.
Yes, I never understand why eBay doesn't 'clean house' when they find something they think violates policy. It's frustrating. I, too, have had items pulled down for the wrong reason, they aren't even close to violations.
I've learned there is no arguing with the bot. No one who cares will authorize the listing, and even if they do, the bot comes along to remove it again.
I'm not familiar with that specific magazine, and to be honest, I am not sure how eBay defines "sexual activity." Does that require more than 1 person? What if it's 2 women? What if there is no p--tration? All could be sex acts, but who knows the definition.
There are 41 fiona cooper in magazines today.
You can report them if you want.
I definitely saw some clear violations (not covered) when reviewing this issue on my own free time.
