Additional shipping charges
Hi - I shipped an item to a buyer and now the buyer is saying the postal service wants $200 more for shipping. Has anyone had this happen before? Thanks for your help!

Items arrive postage due all the time, but this sounds extreme. Is the item in question large and/or heavy?
First I would apologize to the buyer for the inconvenience, and ask for a photo of the postage due notice. Explain that you need to contact their PO and review the additional charges.
If they say they have already paid it, it might be a scam - most people would not pay that amount without contacting the seller. If in fact they did pay it, eBay will not make you reimburse them, although if it is accurate, you should send them the money to cover the added cost.
