If listing with the new Unified Lister, you may need to turn on the Local Shipping field to make it visible for selection (see top of screenshot below). Use the "options" icon at the top of the shipping section to display more shipping fields. When local shipping is selected, it will be added to the other shipping options. Alternatively, the "Shipping method" droplist can select "local shipping only", and the local pickup addon option will be turned off, along with other shipping options.
If you are listing with the Quick Lister for new or casual sellers, there is a checkbox under the shipping options to add Local Pickup to your other shipping options. If local pickup is selected and "ship your item" is turned off, then Local Pickup will be the only buyer option.

OP3 years agoThank you for your help. It took me some time to locate the "local pickup" option but finally - success!!
Another issue - if I want payment to be made through the ebay system rather than payment at time of pickup, will the buyer be charged with the shipping charges if he/she chooses "local pickup"? Kinda messy. I assume, I'd then have to find a way to reimburse buyer. Does ebay then charge their fees on the shipping charges if they are reimbursed?

Mentor3 years agoIf buyer selects LOCAL PICKUP, s/he will not be charged any shipping charge. Buyer will have to pay item price + sales tax (if there is sales tax in your state). Buyer will receive a message with a QR code as well as a 6-digit code. Print out the message (or save to phone) and when the buyer picks up the item, you scan the QR code or enter the 6 digit code into the transaction.
