Added shipping charges on “free shipping†items
I just won several auctions from 2 sellers, all items free shipping. But when they sent the invoices, both had charged a rather large shipping fee! I’ve sent them both a message, and I’ve tried looking on EBay’s help section, but nothing was there. Has this happened to anybody else? The fee was added to one item after the auction ended, the original listing shows “fee shippingâ€. How is this legal?

Message each Seller and ask them to cancel the transactions. If they decline contact eBay and report the misleading information that the Sellers provided on their listings and invoices: eBay Customer Service

OP2 years agoThanks for answering. EBay allowed me to cancel the orders. It was mind-boggling dishonesty that I’ve not yet encountered here. I have had a couple of wingnuts who wouldn’t ever send my stuff, but to outright defraud me like that was a stunner. Thank you for answering me!

It could also be inexperienced Sellers who "think" if they check the Free Shipping box that NOBODY has to pay for the shipping and the carrier just delivers the package for them without any charge ... please don't laugh, that happens.

OP2 years agoThat never occurred to me! I sent emails to them, only one responded. He didn’t say *why* he did it, and I was quite unkind about it. But these folks should know how it affects business, and people won’t shop with them like that! Thanks for responding! I appreciate it!

Really sorry it happened but we see it all here and try to share advice that might help. Some people will not admit their mistakes and some don't know they made them and still others don't actually know what they did ...
