ACME Tool
Summary: The discussion, titled "ACME Tool," involving atterbud and inceptions, contains no discernible content as all posts simply state 'None'. Consequently, no specific details or conclusions can be drawn from this conversation.
I recently ordered an item from ACME tools. I realized I had my old address on the order so immediately requested to change the delivery address. The seller refused, so I tried to cancel the order. That was declined saying it had shipped on May20th, when I did not place the order until May 21st. I have contacted the seller multiple times with no response. It now says Awaiting Shipment and still no response from the seller. eBay has been useless and there is no way I see that I. can resolve this issue as I can no longer cancel the order.
Any advice on how to get the seller or useless eBay to actually help me here. Everything on this site is for the seller and the buyer has no protections at all.

OP4 months agoAs I clearly stated in my post, the seller first lied in their response to my request for cancellation as they claimed to have shipped the item the day BEFORE I purchased it. Since then I have messaged them multiple times with no response.
The package now says it is Awaiting delivery as I also said in my first post, so how can they say that it could not be cancelled as it has shipped already. Had they approved the cancellation, I would have immediately reordered it ion the correct address as I explained to them in my messaging, but that was too much effort for them. Now they have simply bought themselves a one star negative review.
If you are going to respond, why not try reading the post fully instead of trying to claim EBay and the seller have acted appropriately, when clearly they have not.
Do not bother to respond again, you are adding nothing to this thread.

I read your post. I hope you'll reread mine where I wrote that the seller is not obligated to approve a cancellation request. I can only explain to you what eBay policy is. I'm not here to defend it. I don't make eBay policy.
Sometimes the correct response isn't the one you want to hear. Mentors aren't here to tell you what you want to hear, we're here to help you understand what you need to know.

The buyer has many protections on eBay, but they can't protect against all the possible mistakes a buyer might make. Sellers are required to ship to the address provided by the buyer at checkout. You are responsible for reviewing the displayed ship-to address at checkout and making a change if needed before submitting your payment.
If the package had not been sent, the seller could have cancelled the order, relisted, and then you could have repurchased the item with the correct ship-to address. The seller is under no obligation to do this (and may not even know he CAN do this), but some sellers CANNOT do it once the item is in their ordering system.
If you have a forwarding address on file with the carrier, they should deliver to your current address.
