I have had an ebay account for years . I then logged in via Google and the system assigned me a new username and I assumed it would have my listings and history, but I listed some items thinking the new username account was now primary. It turns out that nowI havetw accounts under two usernames and I want my old account with my history and items for sale. Confused yet ?!
Considering the extreme hassle it is to deal with anyone at ebay, I am thinking its gotten too bloated and customer service is a complete fail.

OP1 year agoYes, I have done that. I don't think you understand. I have my "old" account and can log in, but the items I have up are all on the "new" account that I didn't open on my own,.Ib just used the Google login, and the system gave me a new account with the new username that I didn't choose. The system just gave ma a usrname from my gmail . I wat my items to beon myreal account where I have selling and purchasing history. I don't like the idea of re-posting all just to allow ebay customer service to slack. I don't think there IS customer service, I spent an hour or more on the " automaton" chat and it ws the worst experience with ANY business. Even Comcast is better and thats saying something.

Mentor1 year agoYou have two accounts now. Both are real accounts.
You will likely have to either set up your new account with a checking account to receive payment for any sales, or else end your listings in the new account and recreate them in the old account.

OP1 year agoI was feeling that that is the ( hard ) way to go. But now after I spent over an hour with the chatbot trying to get across that I can't talk ! I had cancer surgery and my voice box was taken. At any rate now Ebay system has suspended the "new ' account. So I a left with two non-functioning accounts .

Mentor1 year agoYou now have two separate accounts. Customer service has no way of combining those accounts since eBay stopped that practice many years ago. So talking to customer service is pointless regarding this problem.

You will need to sign out of the new account and then sign back in to the old account using your original username and password.
