Account Restriction
Summary: silverdoughboy expressed frustration over eBay's harsh account restriction due to an order cancellation related to cross-listing on multiple platforms. They suggested an alternative penalty, such as being charged for lost commissions. inceptions responded by emphasizing the impact of order cancellations on customer experience and eBay's reputation, warning against practices that could harm both the platform and other sellers. silverdoughboy acknowledged the concerns raised.
Greetings,
All sales and offers traffic came to a deadstop since eBay restricted my account for order cancellation. This is extremely harsh but I understand why. But the punishment does not fit the crime. Yes, this should not have happened.
But eBay can take a different route which is in their favor. How about charging me for the lost commission and fees that eBay lost due to the cancellation instead of this action. They even restricted my ability to promote. I sell on multiple platforms but I have been with eBay since 2001. This happened since I crosslist and the same item sold within one hour.
Right now, I am designing a real-time sales detection and dealisting workflow that will monitor my sales channels and check for sales every 15 minutes. Hopefully this would reduce the risk significantly. We are all responsible sellers.

Unfortunately not everyone is a responsible seller. When a seller cancels an order, the buyer is inconvenienced and disappointed. He has spent time selecting the item and the seller to buy from, only to have to start all over again. He may leave eBay an stop shopping here if it happens more than once.
Buyers don't care about the fees sellers have to pay, they care about receiving the items they purchase, and it's the buyers that eBay is concerned about here.
There are scammers who sell on eBay and cancel sales as part of their scam. You risk being lumped in with them if you don't ship your orders.
When sellers list the same item on multiple platforms leading to cancelled orders, they not only harm eBay's business, they harm all eBay sellers because eBay appears to be unreliable.
If you are going to list the same item on multiple platforms and you sell it to two different buyers, be sure you ship to the eBay buyer.
