Account Restricted mistakenly because of AI
Summary: wallacejewlz experienced an issue where their account was mistakenly restricted due to AI involvement. comics-scifi-collectibles shared a similar experience, indicating that this might be a common problem that affects multiple users.
I reported another listing for using photos taken directly from my sold listing. My original listing was already completed and inactive because the item had been sold. However, after submitting the report, eBay’s system instead applied a policy violation to my own sold listing, while the active listing that is actually using my photos remains live on the platform.
This situation eventually led to restrictions being placed on my account. Those restrictions were later lifted, but my account was then indefinitely suspended from selling in the Jewelry & Watches category.
I have tried contacting support multiple times throughout this process, but unfortunately I have received very little meaningful assistance or clear guidance regarding what specifically needed to be corrected in my listings. Much of the communication felt misunderstood, which made it extremely difficult to resolve the issue properly.
I have always tried to operate honestly on the platform, maintain policy compliance, and provide good service to buyers, which is reflected in my 100% positive feedback. This entire situation appears to have stemmed from automated enforcement errors and misunderstandings rather than intentional violations.
