account restricted forever
When an account is restricted forever who do you contact for information as to why. Recently my son started a new account. He added his first listing, a pair of Puma/Ralph Sampson/Kid Super Studio shoes. He immediately received an error message that the account has been restricted. That was followed by an internal ebay message that stated he was forever banned from having an account on ebay. A call to customer service followed where he asked why the account was restricted. He was told that he could not have that information. He was asked questions about what he wanted to sell (books, CDs, albums, Dodger shirts, china, bobble heads, shoes, suits, jeans, hats, home decor, art work), how many items he might post a month (20-30), the dollar amount of the items ($10-$550). Then he was put on hold for about 60-90 seconds. The agent returned with the message that his case had been reviewed and that account restriction remained. Again, he was told that he could not be told why this was the case.
Anybody have any insight into ebay's thinking?

Mentor1 year agoI will assume your son does not live with you. If there was another account registered at that same address/internet access and that account was restricted/suspended, then any subsequent activity to register a new account would also be restricted/suspended.

Was his account restricted before or after you listed those shoes on this Account?
If you live in the same household, you cannot have separate accounts with the same listing.

OP1 year agoThank you for responding. I listed the shoes after the call to customer service. I wondered if there is concern that the shoes were stolen. He did not receive any information in the ebay message about why he was restricted. He went through the checklist of possible reasons for restrictions and none apply.
