Account Restricted 4ever? 1st time?
I've been selling full time for over 6 yrs. I've never been restricted or Suspended. No trouble other than a buyer every now and again who trys their luck. eBay, almost always came through for me and if not made me whole, it would be the worst.
3 weeks ago, I have an international buyer trying their luck and to my surprise eBay falls for the scam and worse they won't back off their mistake no matter how obvious the mistake. Undeterred, (mostly disbelief) I am adamant, it was a clear cut mistake on their part to return the buyers money after the item sat at his local shipper for over 2mo. No movement. 4weeks ago, I get a curt message, "item returned, send refund now". I had been returned, to him! No explanation on UPS's part. Before I can respond, eBay issues him a refund. No matter how many phone calls, it went from denial to, "you should probably take it up with the carrier."
Wow, after all I weathered with this buyer on behalf of eBay. 1st, the sale was parts not working. Ad was descriptive. Buyer complains, not working. I contact him to troubleshoot a very complicated technology and he rudely brushes me aside and says he knows how to fix it... ok. 2 weeks later sends me pics of machine disassembled and missing parts. No words. Won't respond, but files a case. I don't even argue, I apologize and approve the return but have issues figuring out the best way to get it back. My dime, both ways. $475 RT.
I get a notice from eBay I have till a date to issue a shipping label or they will. Not sure how it slipped my mind. I do issue the shipping label, post it on his account and verify he has it and knows how to proceed. Hes not nice. I offer to have the carrier pick it up. He doesn't respond.
A week or two later I get notice that the label is in play.
During this time, I'm going back and forth with eBay about a weird feedback neutral I got and same deal they say, no problem, handled. Then a few days later a CS tells me no and leaves it.
My local post office left a workers cart somewhere and a lot of my customers had a scary delay as their was no tracking. As I'm working on the neutral, I believe 3 negatives hit my account. All my responsibility, my choice in carrier. I made efforts to make it better and my feedback shows that... But my lord. Always 100% all earned none bargained for. 2 we're from the PO issue and the 3rd was all my fault. I left the PKG on the counter instead of waiting for the scan and it disappeared. Bam.
So, that is where I was and why this international theft had to be resolved justly.
eBay wouldn't have it and I was tired of the same arguments day after day but having 3 negs suddenly was traumatizeing. I was stressed and started getting packing out early. Then I got a message, your account is under review... Ok, I deserve , l guess. I continue on and 2 days later I receive another identical message.
A thought briefly crosses my mind, maybe eBay wants me to pipe down on the intl thing. Ok.
Nope, soon I get a message with the mc011 or such demands all tracking info. Okay, I've proved myself with eBay many times over the years just because. I've got nothing to fear even knowing the receipt request is next. I do it all wondering why they don't have this information already or is this punishment. I cooperate but a very rude woman demanded proof on a classic dresser 4 times. The proof is the same as the other. I purchased it years ago at a auction estate sale and even the auction house still had the results posted and documented. She wasn't pleased after the 4th request but wouldn't indicate what was wrong. She said I was suspended forever and hung up... What?
This was the worst time of the year for the delay but I stuck through it no complaints but oh my.
I was directed to eBay for business on Facebook??? Where my inquiry were quickly answered unlike on eBay. Then the woman called me back... On her own. She demanded to know why I lowered the price of the dresser... Stumped I didn't know how to respond to this question without coming off misunderstood..
I was about to tell her that eBay encourages sales and I have priced my items appropriately to meet those expectations when she repeats that's it , that it's, I'm indefinitely suspended declares the convo a run around and hangs up.
Back to Facebook were im told I need to respond to the last messages I got or the first ones???
This is maddening as those messages are from myself. Worse I keep getting advise on how to sell this season and how my account has rise. Back up to above average. The last visit to Facebook a week ago was ended with the urging to just go check my messages which I had just done but low and behold there is a solitary message that explains eBay believes I mistreated my return customers by abusing the return options they afford me. Ok.
I say okay because it felt like the letter was explaining this madness and what they felt I did wrong and what I needed to do moving forward.
Well, at the time I was a bit confused as regardless of the return I had been giving hundred percent refunds but I thought okay, if say you've got complaints I will put forth a effort to locate this issue and be sure not to abuse it. but I couldn't because the message was from myself.
This was my lively hood. And it was tough at times and some of those time were due to decisions eBay was making, but rather than **bleep** about it, I stuck with eBay and listened. More listings .. revise.... Market ... Sales ... Whatever the next suggestion I'm on it. Free shipping, free returns... I did it and now after a horrible year, at the time I stand ready to make up for it they shut me down and play these sharades. If they think I am abusing buyers with the return options, why not ask questions about sales where I've been accused. Why have me redo thousands of tracking numbers I go from eBay then act concerned about an old dresser I've had lived for over 3 years and demand proof four times in the same message as if she may not be aware they are the same item x4.? The. Act suspect because I am have a sale like I do every day because eBay recommends sales? The dresser didn't sale and I've been marking steeper and steeper lately because it takes up a lot of room and I needed the money and space more than I needed top dollar.
Please don't come at me hollier than thou... I'm just one of you guys. I've been doing my best with what we have which results in the very community I'm asking for directions or guidance. I'm not above self reflection in fact I welcome any and all feedback, it makes me better. Usually, I can take it right on the chin but I would prefer to have it in the form of corrective criticism today.. it's been a tough year.
eBay was my life. It's been tough at times to stand with but I did. Locking me out without solid reasons... It almost seems like it could have something to do with not letting up about the theft of my item and the funds via the international sale. But that seems crazy... But keep in mind 6years no trouble and I've sold at the same levels and same goods. I've been verified I believe 2 or 3 times. Seemed routine. 100% feedback till very, very recently then 3 negatives in a row. Customers all serviced without questions.
To make it worse, they have held a large amount of funds till I clear the restrictions but I can feel free to send over ¾ of it on eBay if I like. What I'd like, is to get back to feeding my kids.
Help , advise whatever you can give. Thank you
