Account restricted
Hi. I was bidding on an item last night and when I was outbid, I tried to increase the amount of my bid, and I kept getting a message that my account was restricted. I received no messages at all about why. Today, I was able to bid on another item. It's impossible to reach a human to ask about the restriction. How do I find out what happened and if I am still somehow restricted? Thanks

OP8 months agoThere own help site states that they will send an email explaining why they restricted the account. I never got one.....
I think I wasted 45 minuted on three chats with AI Bots ! :.(

OP8 months agoIs it possible that the pop-up message that my account was restricted was some sort of spoof/fake? But I was not able to place any further bids on the item.

You can try a different browser or if using your phone try a PC ... Regarding our other post about eBay contacting you, well, I am not aware of them ever picking up the phone can calling members about issues on their accounts ... in today's world more and more systems are monitored by computers and now AI programming.

OP8 months agoThanks for the info. The biggest complaint I have, is that I never received ANY communications from ebay about "why"?

Depending on the circumstance and the amount you were trying to bid yesterday and today you may have been flirting with your Buying limits for the month: Buying limits and restrictions | eBay
Your account dates back to 2000 but based on your Feedback history you have been more active buying this month that the previous 6 months.
