Account registered with my email address

Someone has registered an eBay account using my second email address. How do I report this and get the account closed?

@thewolffman24 There’s really no way to report it because there is no way to prove that the other email is yours.What you can do is take control of it, change the password and then close it. To take control of the account, sign out of your account. Then go to the sign in page and use the email address to try to sign in, clicking forgot password. eBay will send you a link to reset the password so you can sign in. Also freeze your credit bureau accounts so that someone can't take out a loan or open a credit card account in your name.

Run a deep virus scan on your computer to check for spyware.

I have seen other reports of this happening. In all cases so far the email address was NOT associated at all with eBay until the hacker used it to open a new seller account.

This means that eBay had no record of the hacked email until it was used by the scammer so the hack occurred somewhere else.

Change the password on your email account right away.
