Account Metrics Cleared After 1 Year But Permanent Restriction Remains – System Glitch?
Summary: rhstore99 raises a concern about account metrics being cleared after one year, yet a permanent restriction remains, suggesting it might be due to a system glitch. evry1nositswindy comments on the issue, but no detailed information is provided in the discussion.
Hello everyone,
I need some honest advice on a technical loop my seller account is stuck in.
Exactly one year ago, my cross-border seller account was permanently restricted due to bad performance under BBE / INR issues.
Important Details of My Case:
- Every single INR case opened against my account was closed in my favor by eBay because I provided valid tracking numbers that clearly show the items were successfully delivered.
- eBay even removed all the negative feedbacks left by buyers, acknowledging that I did my job perfectly as a seller.
- Despite having 100% delivered tracking proofs for every shipment, the automated system blocked my selling privileges solely based on the initial "case opened" rate.
- Whenever I contact customer support to submit these proofs, the agents refuse to listen or manually review the evidence I have. I have all the tracking records ready to provide to anyone who can do a human review.
This month, my 12-month rolling evaluation cycle completed. My Seller Hub metrics automatically reset, all defects expired, and my status moved back up to "Above Standard" with 0% defects.
Right after the metrics cleared, I received an official notification from eBay stating:
"The temporary limitations on your account have been lifted and you’re all set to get back to selling."
"The temporary limitations on your account have been lifted and you’re all set to get back to selling."
However, my front-end dashboard still displays the red "Permanent Selling Restriction" banner and I cannot list any items. When I reached out to a live customer service agent, they told me that despite the clearance email, the restriction on the backend remains permanent and cannot be manually reviewed.
Has anyone successfully dealt with this contradiction where the automated performance system says "selling is back on track" but the security lock remains active? What are the realistic chances of getting a manual override from a senior team member in this situation? i have all proof against account selling restriction be
Any guidance or similar experiences would be highly appreciated.
Thank you!

Permanently restricted means just that. I have never heard of a seller coming back from a BBE permanent restriction.
