Account is on hold
We were in hospital for six weeks. When we returned eBay had restricted our account. We've been in touch with eBay perhaps 30 times in the ensuing days - we can get no response to our inquiries. The eBay 3-day "rule" no longer applies. What do we do?

Mentor1 year agoHi @navalperson2
I was recently in the hospital for a procedure that required an overnight stay. I ended up there for two weeks, followed by several weeks of recovery at home, so I can identify with your issue.
I can explain what you should have done (which doesn't help you now), but if you knew you were going to the hospital, you should have put your listings on Time Away. If the hospital stay was unexpected, you could have done that from the app on your phone while in the hospital.
I have had to extend my Time Away settings several times due to the fact that I'm not yet able to handle the workload yet. It's been 10 weeks...
If you were unconscious and unable to do that, then you might plead your case with eBay and provide proof from your doctor or the hospital that you were unable to handle this. Regardless, I would contact eBay and ask if they would remove the restriction if you provide them with proof of the situation.
To speak directly with an eBay agent, you can request a call-back at this link:

I would do that during regular business hours during the week to increase the chance of speaking with an experienced US-based agent (though no guarantees...).
Unfortunately, we sellers need to develop contingency plans. You never know what may happen unexpectedly.
Wishing you the best of luck with your recovery.
