Accidentally left feedback meant for eBay on a buyers page. How do I change/remove this?
Hello,
I just sold my first item through eBay and the whole process and selling experience went great but I just realized that I mistakenly left feedback for what I thought was meant for eBay, as in a review of my opinions about how my selling experience went. Based on the wording of the page that prompted me to leave the feedback, as well as myself still learning the ropes of these services, I believed I was submitting the comments for eBay, but clearly, I have made a mistake, and I would really like to resolve it as it is not only embarrassing, but the buyer now has my out of place feedback comment on their page. Now, there is nothing wrong necessarily with the feedback, it was positive, but it is clearly me describing my experience with using the services and does not reflect what I had intended to write specifically for them, along with also not looking right on their page. I am struggling to figure out how to change the comment I wrote, or even remove it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I know this is a silly mistake, but I would like to correct it, and if at all possible not have to involve the buyer in that process. Thanks!

I’m sorry that it’s not possible to change positive feedback … BUT you can still leave a Follow Up to the feedback you left to fix the problem. [There’s a link to do that from your Feedback Profile.]

OP3 years ago @mam98031 Thanks for your quick reply! I appreciate the reassurance with not worrying too much about the feedback I left, as well as the helpful links to the eBay tutorials and information for new sellers.
Upon further investigation, I was able to locate a hyperlink that says Tell us what you think at the bottom of Order Details page displaying the current shipping status of my order that I sent out, and when you click on that, it brings up a multi-question panel asking you to rate your experience, along with a few related questions. I must've just seen that, and then later clicked on the feedback panel meant for the buyer and just misread the prompts, thinking it was for the same thing especially since both options for the buyer and for eBay are labeled as feedback, but I did not see the one I filled out specify it was for the the buyer. Also, given the timing I saw this, which was right after completing a sale, in my experience with other kinds of online platforms, it can be a common place for them to ask you for your input and feedback about the services or application. I completely recognize this was my error, I just wanted to try and explain how I got into this conundrum. In regard to there not being any place to provide feedback for eBay directly, I wasn't sure what you meant as this does seem to be an option for me, and coincidentally enough, on a separate note, as I was just typing this reply, a pop-up overlayed my screen asking me to complete a brief survey after I finished submitting this. I will attach some screenshots showing these messages and options for reviews of my experiences if that may be helpful with providing some more context. I won't worry too much about the feedback I left by mistake, and while I do imagine this may not be a common issue users run into, I do wish there was some function available to correct it and the feedback you leave on a users page. I have read a few articles about feedback revision requests, and tried going through those steps, but they did not seem to apply to my situation nor was it able to even give me the option to request for my feedback to be removed or revised, so that's why I came to this forum with my question. (For reference: I am currently using the eBay mobile app on iOS 16.3.1)

Mentor3 years agoI'm not sure why you thought you were leaving feedback for Ebay. That is a first for me. There isn't any place to leave feedback for Ebay just in case you were wondering.
it is likely the feedback you left will be just fine. it may leave the buyer scratching their head a little, but it is fine, try not to worry about it.
I'm not at all sure what wording you saw that made you think you were leaving feedback for Ebay and not the Buyer. But what is done is done.
