Accidentally cancelled return - need someone from Customer Service who can resolve
I need to find a human at eBay who can deal with an accidentally cancelled refund request.
I purchased an electronics item that was DOA. I selected the refund request button but realized that I'd chosen the wrong refund method in reviewing the confirmation. So I initiated the process to cancel the refund, put the reason why in the comments, confirmed the cancellation, then went to re-start, only to find that the system wouldn't let me. Total time elapsed for all this was about 15 minutes.
The chat function ended with someone calling me who said only that it's eBay's policy to not re-open cancellations. They said to contact the seller who, of course, isn't interested in a refund.
I'm now out $300 for a broken item. This seems like an absurd policy. Before I try to get my credit card company to intervene, is there an idea of how to get in touch with a person who can fix this? This can't possibly actually be how a company does business.
Thanks in advance.
