Accessibility Concern: No Support Options for Sellers With Hearing Impairments
I’m hoping to get clarification or guidance regarding an accessibility issue I’ve encountered with eBay’s seller support system.
At the moment, eBay appears to offer live agent assistance only through phone calls. For sellers with hearing impairments—or anyone who cannot effectively use voice calls—this creates a major barrier to receiving help, resolving account issues, or appealing seller performance evaluations.
In my case, I need to submit a formal dispute regarding my seller level and account restrictions, but the only path to a live representative is by phone. Written communication options (email, chat, or secure messaging) are either unavailable or extremely limited, which leaves me without an accessible way to address urgent account matters.
This raises a few important questions:
- What support channels does eBay provide for sellers who cannot use phone-based communication due to hearing impairments or other disabilities?
- Is there an established accessibility pathway for account appeals or performance disputes?
- If not, how can sellers in this situation receive equal access to support and resolution?
eBay’s marketplace relies on fairness and accessibility for all users, and I believe this is an area where additional support options are needed. Any guidance from mentors or moderators would be greatly appreciated.
