Accepted offer paid automatically with PayPal
Greetings ... not long ago when made an offer on an iten that had the option, I received an email saying the seller had accepted my offer, after which I paid for the item ... the last two offers I had accepted by sellers were paid automatically with my PayPal bank account ...
My question is why the automatic payment ... I liked the option to choose between my PayPal balance, PayPal credit, or the credit card/ bank account I have attached to PayPal ...
Anyone have any information on the change in payment and/or if I can change that somewhere ...

OP2 years agoI really don't want to but reckon I'll have to make PayPal credit as the default ... I pay it off every month if there is a balance (I only use it to keep it as an option) ... and - I will never buy anythng from Disney as it has lost the family values with which we all grew up ... thank you for your answer ... T

Mentor2 years agoWhen you select PayPal as your automated payment method on offers it's automatically from the bank account. It won't let you select PayPal credit which undesirably is frustrating.
You can ask a seller to remove the prepaid requirements maybe they will so you can use the PayPal credit.

OP2 years agoI was wanting to see when this practice had started ... I've purchased numerous items on the "seller has accepted your offer, now pay for the item" ... I was surprised at the aotu payment ... it's not the money, just not having the option to use my payment options to which I object ... thanks for the reply ... T

I don't recall when ebay started asking for an auto payment method when buyers used the Make Offer option, and then also asked for an auto payment method when buyers placed a bid if the buyers ended up winning the auction. ebay is doing this to reduce the number of unpaid items. Make sure your Paypal account defaults to using Paypal Credit if that is how you wish to pay. Soon ebay will be asking for an auto payment method when sellers send buyers an offer. That has already started and will be increasing to all sellers.

This is not a setting that a buyer can change. The seller sometimes has control over it, but since it applies to all of his items, most will not change it.
It is to reduce the number of items not paid for.
I have seen a number of complaints about not being able to select PayPal credit. You should be able to control if your balance or a card issued by setting your preferred payment method in PayPal.
