abusive buyer
I was new and had not been selling for long. I listed an antique mantle clock that I had for years and that worked perfectly. The clock was already wound and didn't need any additional winding. The buyer wound both clock springs so tight that the clock pendulum could not unwind itself. The buyer requested a refund and also expected to keep the clock. I insisted that he return the clock and I had to pay for shipping both ways and eBay returned half of the buyer's money. I reported the buyer and added him to my eBay blocked buyer list. I had a second buyer claim an item didn't work, but when he returned it to me, the item worked perfectly. Again, I paid for shipping both ways and the buyer got a full refund. I reported the buyer, added him to my blocked buyer list and changed my shipping and return policy This was an education for me and that's why my policy is buyers pay for shipping with a 14 day return window. sellinsyuffonhere

OP5 months ago..... and that's why I changed my shipping policy to " the buyer pays for shipping." I feel that that if the buyer has to pay shipping to return the item, a disingenuous buyer will reconsider returning an item for a frivolous reason. This may price my item a little higher than others, but I am not selling on here to waste my time and lose money.

·5 months agoIf a buyer opens a return case using the reason Item Not As Descrbied, the Ebay Money Back Guarantee overrules any return policy of yours, and you WILL be paying return shipping in those instances.

OP5 months agoI already had a buyer say that a used item that he bought from me was "not as described. " He claimed that the item didn't work but when I got the item back, it was working as it should and only needed a new battery. I relisted it again with a video that showed it working and sold it to a buyer who kept it. I found out that I can add a buyer who pulls a dirty trick on me to a list that will prevent him from buying from me again. I have put these 2 buyers on that list. I don't want to do business with them again. One of them broke my clock and the other returned an item only because he changed his mind and I had to pay for shipping there and back for both sales. How can a buyer claim " not as described " when the listing plainly says that the item's condition is used and untested?
