A seller is trying to bribe me to change my feedback.
I bought a ring from DiamondTen on January 29, 2024. The ring arrived but the size was not as listed. When I contacted the seller, he wanted me to send the ring back to him so he could fix it. I told him that I didn't have the time to do that as I am my 97 year old father's caretaker. He could have offered to reimburse some of the cost as I would have to have the ring re-shanked and resized which cost close to $200.00. With no response, I left a negative review which I rarely do.
Today Carl sends a text to me out of the blue and says that if I change my review, he'll give me a pair of synthetic diamond 14 carat gold earrings worth $475.00 on his website, which I consider to be a bribe. It's now April! January to April!!!! This is very unethical and not fair to future customers who deserve to know this seller's true, authentic rating by customers.

·2 years agoThe reason jewelry is authenticated is so you are getting what is described. It's not just to make sure the stone and metal is authentic but everything else that is described is true. If it wasn't then it would not pass. It passed.
So that being said I think the seller might have deserved the neg had they not offered to accept the return or to fix the problem. I'm sure they felt the neg was undeserved. Many buyers buy and then complain so they can get it cheaper. You can report the buyer but whoever takes the report might think you were trying to get it cheaper is how this fiasco started.

·2 years agoHi @cjhain Do what @comics-scifi-collectibles advised. But for the future, the right way to handle a problem with your purchase is to always submit a request to return for refund through eBay's Money Back Guarantee. The seller can then choose to send you a partial refund and you keep the item, or ask you to return for a full refund.
It's easy to return an item. EBay will send you a prepaid shipping label, so all you need to do is print it out, put the new label on the shipping box, and give the package to your postal carrier. For USPS packages, you can even schedule a free pickup online at the USPS website, and the carrier will come to your door to pick up.

Mentor2 years ago@cjhain That is feedback extortion and not allowed. You should report the seller using this form>
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022 The seller has violated one of eBay’s policies> Other
Provide the item number for the listing if possible. State how the seller contacted you and that they are trying to break the feedback extortion policy by bribing you to change the feedback.
So sorry you had a bad seller.
