A return I shouldn’t have accepted
I had a seller purchase a scanner from me. I shipped it out as promised, it’s was shipped nice and tight with. A few days after it was received the seller initiated a refund request. Citing the “item not as described†stating that they were expecting a brand new scanner in the original packaging. This being only my second eBay sale I figured I must have done something wrong or made an error when listing it. I accepted the return request and later that day I thought more about it. I went back to the original listing and the item was NOT listed as being in the original packaging. The item listed is exactly what they received. They claimed that the trays were broken off and sent a picture. The trays are shipped detached from the scanner for protection, they simply needed to follow the instructions provided with the scanner to attach them. I don’t really feel as though I should have to issue a refund for the buyer not knowing what they were buying. What should I do?

·3 years agoIt was listed as new, so it should be in the original box.
Since they filed an INAD, you didn't have any choice, but accept the return.
All you can do is give the buyer a full refund once it's returned.

·3 years agoYou should refund the purchase price when you get the item back. You really don't have any option when a buyer claims an item is not as described.
