A Quick Question
Summary: mr_gracia shared an experience on eBay where a buyer purchased a card and paid for shipping, but the package was returned due to an invalid address. After informing the buyer, the buyer requested a full refund. mr_gracia offered to refund only the card cost, citing used shipping materials. They are unsure if this is the right approach, as it's their first eBay issue of this nature.
So the buyer bought a card from me and paid for shipping. I shipped the card out and Usps returned it saying invalid address. I messaged the buyer to show him that’s the package was returned for an invalid address. He then asks for a full refund which is $1.36 for shipping and $2.99 for the card. I told him I could give him a $2.99 refund because the shipping and materials to ship has been used. Am I wrong? This is my first time encountering this on eBay. Like I have the card in my possession but he doesn’t want it anymore.

You cannot refund the shipping since the shipping amount has already been used.
