A new device is using your account

Question

( A new device is using your account) I get one message every time i open Ebay.. so far i have collected 109 of them.. how do i stop this. my device has been the same for 6 years..

@jman615 -I get that occasionally when I use the Firefox browser -I never get that when I use the Edge browser

We just need to get used to it, as it is part of eBay's security notifications.

For instance, on my daily eBay account, I remain logged in and don't clear my cookies/cache when I close the browser, so I rarely see the message on this account.

However, I have a number of other eBay accounts that I access regularly using a separate private browsing window or incognito mode, so that I won't need to log out of my daily eBay account. I will always receive the "new device" notification when using incognito browsing (which doesn't preserve cookies or cache between sessions).

eBay sends those messages if you sign in from a browser that does not have cookies from a previous eBay session saved, or if you sign in from a new IP-address.

So if you are erasing your browser cookies, using a new browser, using a different network connection or a hotspot or a VPN, or using privacy software that hides your location, you will get those messages.

As long as the time corresponds to your own sign in activity you can ignore the messages.

If you are concerned that someone else may have signed in to your account, change your password.
