A manipulative buyer
The buyer asked about the odor of the coat I was selling. It's an Italian mouton coat. I wore the coat and never kept it in a basement (I don't have one) or in a suitcase. I hang it in the wardrobe with some mothballs, which are not strong at all. I explained to the buyer that the coat does not have a strong basement odor, and it's beautiful, heavy, and warm. I warned the buyer in a message about my return policy. Nevertheless, the buyer paid, and I immediately mailed the coat. She was happy with coat, and then said that she had already a fur coat with the strong basement odor. Not mine, her other coat. Then she sent me a message and told me about a strong basement odor in my coat and called me a liar. I explained to her that my coat has no odor and that I don't accept returns. Then she manipulated me, asking me for an additional discount; otherwise, she would ask for a refund. She did. This buyer is a manipulator, and eBay agrees with her and forces me to accept the coat with the refund. eBay makes policies and makes us follow them, yet at the same time it lets me violate those policies and helps irresponsible buyers make sellers' lives difficult. I am afraid the buyer is manipulating the odor and can spray something on my coat to make it smell disgusting. I will not give up, as this refund is not the first instance of manipulation in my selling experience. I will contact New York Attorney General Letitia James for assistance with this case.
