A fedex Shipping label adjustment was charged to seller
I determine the shipping label cost as I always do using eBay’s form & entering the weight and the measurements of the box to be shipped. Different shipping companies were offered, and I chose FedEx home delivery because it was the best lowest price. Today I am being charged by fedex an additional fee because the DIM number was greater than the actual billable weight. I don’t understand when I’m supposed to use the DIM Calculations. Actual weight of package was 10.31 pounds, and dimensions are 19×21×9 inches. The DIM calculated the billable weight by FedEx as 22 pounds. I understand how they got the DIM number, But confused when I should double check which number is higher, the DIM or the actual weight. I was charged an additional $35 for label! Why wasn’t this important calculation provided to me when I worked on Determining which shipping company to use.? What went wrong?

Mentor5 months ago@laskygoddess You can try disputing the surcharge but I doubt it will work since it is a dimensional surcharge.
Only eBay customer service can file the dispute since they are the Fed Ex customer. I recommend contacting CS on social media to ask them to do this. Keep in mind that Fed Ex does sometimes add incorrect surcharges but there are CORRECT surcharges that you can read about on the Fed Ex website.
Personally if I have an item that is too large or heavy to ship via USPS then I use UPS and buy the label from PIrateship.com. Pirateship helps with insurance claims and surcharge disputes. UPS does have a list of valid surcharges on their website too. UPS does not add surcharges as often as Fed Ex does.
Social media is the best way to contact customer service for this issue.
Here's how to contact eBay general customer service. ( I feel that it's ok to use this option since it does affect your bottom line.)
Click this link> https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold?id=4814
Then Type PAYOUT In the chat bot box on the lower right.
Then AGENT after the bot responds. You might have to repeat those steps.
Or you can also contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.
