A eBay seller passing off Porcelain for Authentic Limoges
So, it is fine and dandy with eBay that a seller can pass off Fake Porcelain for authentic Limoges France Porcelain which I have been collecting for 25 years. That is not right at all Seller got back to me with a snarky answer and has the nerve after I messaged him about it, to offer me the plate, which was done in spite. i WILL NEVER buy fake Limoges, I know my Markings, Artists Factory Marks, etc.

What makes you think it's fine and dandy for sellers to sell counterfeits on eBay. Not only is selling counterfeits not allowed on eBay, it's a federal crime. Unfortunately, not everyone is honest, and in some cases, it's just ignorance about the product being sold.
There are over 2 billion active items on eBay with more being added by the minute. eBay catches listings that violate policy all day long that you'll never see, but also rely on reports from buyers. Though in an imaginary world it would be wonderful if it were possible to authenticate every listed item, but obviously that cannot happen in real life.
If you receive a counterfeit item, here's what to do...
If you received an item that is not as described, you have up to 30 days to open a return using the option next to the transaction in your Purchase History. The seller will have 3 business days to provide a prepaid return shipping label or else refund. If he does neither, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. eBay will force the refund.

Fortunately you have expertise in this product line, so it should be almost impossible for you to be fooled by a fake and you can stop yourself from buying the item at all.

OP4 months agoThank You for your message. Fortunately for me no I did not get fooled, my purchases are only for authentic Limoges Porcelain from France. But there was a piece I was looking at that is fake and was wondering how eBay handles Sellers who do pass off any Product as something it is not. Now I do believe that there are some sellers who honestly do not know what authentic Limoges Porcelain is and can get fooled by some of the fakes that are out there, and that is sad. Seller did not seem to have a problem with me calling them out. Thank You, I am glad that eBay has the buyer's back.
