A customer has paid me but doesnt want the item shipped for a couple weeks. Do I mark it as shipped

OP3 years agoHe paid for it right away and then asked me to hold it and not ship until March. He was called out of town.

Mentor3 years agoIf you do not ship and add a tracking number on time per your listing, your account will get a strike.

·3 years agoNot shipping it now will harm your on time shipping metrics and leave it open for him/her to file and win an Item Not Received after the estimated delivery date has passed. Marking it as shipped prevents neither of those and is a lie.
Respond that eBay requires you to ship within your handling time and s/he needs to choose between cancelling the transaction or you shipping it within your handling time.

Mentor3 years agoNo, not unless you ship it. Tell buyer to either have the item forwarded to a friend or neighbor or have it held at the post office for pickup. Otherwise, cancel the transaction for an address problem.
If you want to let him reserve it after cancellation, relist it, tell buyer to purchase, but not to pay until he is ready for it. However, make sure you do not wait pass the two weeks before cancelling for non-payment, if he ends up not paying.
