A buyer encountered an error while trying to make a purchase
So I had a customer message me saying thay tried several times to make a purchase for an item i had listed and kept encountering a error. So they contacted eBay and eBay told them that its because of some kinda way I've got my account set up to where new users aren't allowed to make purchases from me. Well this person happens to be a new user. So they said eBay told her to forward me a link to copy and past to my web browser it fix the issue. It just doesn't seem right to me. Because I can't find a setting on my account that's like that. Plus I don't see eBay doing that. But I don't know and it's not that i don't believe the buyer it's just that I did what they told me to do and the link went no where. Does anyone know what to do in this situation? If so please help me out with some advice on what to do. Thanks a fellow eBay user!

Do not click on the link or go to it. This is a phishing attempt.
Ignore the message, do not respond and send it to eBay at spoof@ebay.com

If it was sent through the eBay messaging system also report the message. There is a link in the action drop down menu at the top of the message.
There is no setting for any seller to block new buyers on eBay. Sellers can block individual buyers, you can add this buyer to your blocked buyer list.

OP2 years agoThank You! It didn't seem right to me. So I thought I'd ask around. I'm a newer user of Ebay and I'm still learning the ins and outs of it. So I had no idea if there was or wasn't this type of setting. I know I couldn't find one but then again I didn't know if I was looking in the wrong place. But thanks again lisa5768
