A bidder is offering to pay more via Venmo (away from ebay) if I end the auction. How can I report??
I'm currently selling an item on ebay. Almost immediately after I posted it for sale, there was a buyer (with excellent feedback and thousands of transactions) who quickly bid/met the reserve price and then sent me a message asking if I would take WAY more for the item than it was worth via venmo.
I received another offer from another buyer...and I asked that buyer "why is this other guy offering me so much?" And he told me that buyer/seller is notorious for fake auctions, boosting prices and cancelling venmo payments after people ship items. So it's a clear scam. Apparently the user is well known and has been called out previously, but yet why is ebay still allowing him to operate?
This user is now my top bidder on my item. I'm sure if he wins, from what I was told, he won't pay. I have screenshots of him offering to pay me outside of ebay through venmo. I WANT TO REPORT HIM. Please help.

Mentor2 years agoIf he asked for you to take the auction off of eBay, you can report the message.
Go to your messages, open the message. At the top of the message under action, click report. select scam or other and describe the issue in the box.
I would also cancel his bid, then put him on your blocked list. https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
