50% refund for damaged returned items, why 50%
Why does ebay have this policy? "you can deduct up to 50% from the refund for the loss in value of the item." Why only 50%? If an item (like a ceramic cup) is broken it is of no value at all. Another example, I just had an auto computer returned to me, it has plastic mounting towers, if these were broken when the buyer returned it, it would be of no value, it would be scrap/unsellable.
I lose 50% of my money.

Mentor1 year ago@orr4sale I understand your frustration. The 50% refund is BETTER than a full refund.
If an item is damaged in shipping then you file a postal insurance claim to get your money back.
The 50% refund is for buyer neglect or damaged to an item that reduces the value.

OP1 year agoMore like 50% is better than nothing.
If damaged in shipping the sender gets the refund.
If damaged by the buyer, beyond repair, it's a 50% loss.

Mentor1 year ago@orr4sale. Seller protection for buyer damaged items only started in 2018.
I was at eBay Open that year when Seller Protections started. Before that it was a 100% loss.
