Did the buyer pay already? Then you need to cancel and relist.
The address you ship to, has to be added to the payment.
Cancel for troubles with address.

OP2 years agoNo buyer did not pay.
He has asked for me to text him. I realized that is probably wrong and he wants email so he can send payment to my Paypal account.
I told him I could not correspond via text and he had to go through eBay...
I will wait a day and see if he goes through eBay otherwise cancel sale.

You almost got it. He wants email so he can send a fake, forged message that says you've been paid. Some scammers are skillful and the forgeries can look quite legitimate. Don't fall for it.
You're an inexperienced seller and, as such, you're a scam magnet. There are thieves who prey on newbies, expecting their lack of experience to make them easy targets. Happily, you came here to ask before you got taken to the cleaners.

Mentor2 years ago@biwil2572 You MUST ship to the address provided at checkout. If the buyer provided that address at checkout AND not in an eBay message then it's okay.
You lose seller protection for tracking proof of delivery if you do not ship to the address the seller provided at checkout.
You can cancel the sale as problem with buyers address, refund the buyer, then relist so they can put in the correct address at checkout. However you are not required by eBay to do these steps.

That's TOTALLY scam! You didn't mention this before. It's always best to give us ALL of the information.
Never share contact information before an item is paid for using eBay checkout. All messages are made using eBay messages. You must ALWAYS ship to the address on the checkout page to have seller protection for proof of delivery. Stop talking to the scammer and do the following:
As a fellow seller I know how frustrating non paying buyers can be.
When a buyer doesn't pay you can cancel the sale after 4 FULL DAYS so on the 5th day cancel as buyer hasn't paid. This gives the non-paying buyer a strike on their account and they also will not be able to leave feedback. Then you relist OR do a second chance offer.
If the buyer receives 2 or more strikes in 12 months then they are blocked from auctions or best offers for one year ( as long as the seller sets this up in account settings) and can only make immediate payment purchases, if they get too many strikes then eBay may remove the buyer from the site.
Do not send an invoice or it starts the clock over again for when you cancel as buyer hasn't paid. eBay sends payment reminders.

Have you set up your buyer requirements in account settings?
Click this link: https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements Then block buyers with 2 or more unpaid items in 12 months.
If you are not shipping internationally also block buyers in locations you do not ship to.
Then at the bottom of the screen look for buyer Payment Requirements put a check next to both of these:
Require buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer.
These settings will cut down on your non paying buyer issues.

OP2 years agoThe seller just asked me this. I appreciate the advice.
So now I wait for him to checkout and if he does not I cancel the sale?

Mentor2 years ago@biwil2572 The BUYER asked you to violate eBay policy. They are not going to pay so follow my advice and don't talk to them any more.
Cancel on the 5th day as buyer hasn't paid so you get your selling fees back and the buyer gets an unpaid item strike on their account.

·2 years agoYes. It is sounding more and more like a scammer. Has the buyer paid THROUGH EBAY? Don't go by any email or text you received (especially if the " buyer" got you to email or text him/her for ANY reason), check in your list of sold items for the details of the transaction.

Seller do not receive payment to their PayPal account.
