30 day part fit guarantee- do sellers have superior position over buyers?
Fact pattern:
Purchased $900 radio from seller premium.parts. I purchased from seller because it was EBAY GUARANTEED FIT. Seller had my vehicle in listed compatibility. Radio installed fine, but some features didn't work. Research suggested radio needed dealer programming, but radio did fit as ebay seller showed. I scheduled next available appt with dealership trusting ebay seller and thinking it was programming issue. Discovered radio is NOT compatible with my model. Now we are just outside 30 day return window. (Dealership schedules out several weeks due to full schedules.) Contacted seller explaining circumstances and asking what we can do. Seller refused return, closed my return window, AND after the fact CHANGED THE ORIGINAL LISTING removing my vehicle from compatibility list! I have documented proof. I have original invoice showing compatibility. I also have revised listing AFTER my contact with premium.parts showing my vehicle is no longer listed in seller compatibility list. My course of action appears reasonable, and I based it on seller having superior knowledge that this fit my vehicle. Also my seller feedback doesn't show up in seller feedback. Seller continues to have 100% positive feedback. Who specifically should I contact at ebay? Do I have an argument here or is ebay "wildcat country" and this simply how ebay works? Buyer beware because sellers have a superior position... I reported seller to ebay, but have no response. It has been three days, but it is the holiday season. My fact pattern is 100% accurate and again I have PDF proof validating prior sale compatibility and vendor premium.parts changing compatibility after sale. Any suggestions is appreciated.

·2 years agoSellers often rely on eBay's published fitment data, but sometimes there are midyear model changes that don't get into the charts. Because eBay provides the fitment data, eBay's "guaranteed fit" is managed by eBay. eBay just happened to match the time limit to eBay's "30 day money back guarantee".
I'm sorry this happened. You may be able to sell the radio to recover most of your funds.
