3 best "auto" offers
So.....of the 3 offers to choose from, when making an offer,......who or why would ANYONE pick the middle or higher offer numbers??? I think the 3 offer thing is pretty useless, plus it turns people away ie; my husband didn't know that he could put in his own lower offer than the lowest of the 3 picks.
At first I thought it was an option, but if you do best offer, you'll always get/still have the 3 "auto" offers???
I just don't think it's helpful for anyone!
Anyone??

·2 years agoI haven't seen that for Best Offers. Are you seeing this on the website or the mobile apps?
Bear in mind though that the higher the offer the more likely that the seller will accept it, and also that you don't have infinite offers (limit for most categories is 5 offers per listing) to work with in trying to get the lowest the seller will go.
The 3 buttons for bids should NEVER be used. Not only are they bad strategy (round numbers based on the "current bid" amount when you should bid your true maximum you are willing and able to pay for that item as listed regardless of what others have bid or even might bid, except that someone else is likely to have the same maximum and add a little to the round number as a tiebreaker) they are dangerous in that that amount assigned to each button can suddenly change significantly as a new bid is processed and you might not see the new amount.

Mentor2 years agoI didn't know that ebay gives 3 suggested prices when someone wants to make a best offer. I always thought after clicking MAKE OFFER, the buyer is presented with the field to type in his/her offer amount. I agree, that displaying 3 different amounts is not helpful.
