Mentor1 year agoWere you purchasing the same item from the same seller using the same listing? Sales tax is determined by the category the seller places their listing in. If the seller places their listing in a different category then sales tax may be charged even if the item is the same.
What were the item numbers of the two listings so we can look at the listing and compare?

Mentor1 year agoWhere is the item being shipped to? If that state has a sales tax, then you will be charged a sales tax. In addition, if your state has no sales tax on clothing, for example, there will not be a sales tax if the listing was in Clothing/Shoes/Accessories, but if the item was listed in a Sporting Goods subcategory, then there would be a sales tax.
