2 items sold but not paid

Question

I had 2 items sell yesterday. 1 item the buyer asked to cancel immediately after he beat out the other bidders. I told him to change his payment method and he said he couldn't. Why not?

2nd item no payment from buyer.

Ebay won't help, just says to cancel the items.

Who's side is Ebay on? Either see if other bidders want items or charge the buyer's a small restocking fee.

-On Unpaid items you have to wait 4 days and on day 5 you can Cancel using the reason Buyer hasn't paid, the Buyer gets an Unpaid item strike on their account. If they get 2 the will have trouble bidding or buying on eBay for 12 months, which is how long it takes for UPI strikes to roll off their account. If you want to pursue a Second chance offer DO NOT toggle the Relist for free to ON, do NOT Relist it.

-For Second chance offers, if you go to the item and open it and then click on the Bid number the Bid history will open. Over on the right is the Second chance offer option on the next highest bidder, you can send the offer from that page.

-In the future, you can test Auto-pay by toggling it ON, on this page for both Auctions and Offers: Buyer management | eBay

When that is ON Buyers have to provide a payment method BEFORE they bid on auctions or participate in the Offer process. A winning bid or accepted offer will charge their payment method one hour later ... they can change their payment method within that hour but either way they are charged and you are paid.

NOTE: Keep one thing in mind, with Auto-pay turned ON and if you offer Combined shipping a winning bidder will be given 7 days to either pay or continue to shop ... eBay's thinking is they may want to buy more form you and take advantage of Combined shipping.
