$1700 auto part doesn't fit Past retuned date seller no response
Summary: richards4930 purchased an incorrect transfer case for their Jeep from a seller despite providing detailed vehicle information. After experiencing home flooding and returning to install the part, they found it didn't fit and reached out to the seller with no response. The timeframe for eBay’s return policy had passed, and repeated attempts to file a claim were unsuccessful. comics-scifi-collectibles advised pursuing a chargeback with the payment method, which richards4930 has initiated through their bank.
I purchased a Tranfer case for my 2006 Jeep grand Cherokee srt8 for over $1700 I was sent the wrong part, I sent my Vin Number, year make , model and engine size before my purchased it. I kept in touch with the seller to let them know I wasn't able to attempt to install it because my home was flooded and my garage was destroyed from back to back storms, 8 days ago we were able to return to my home after a month staying with family until the property was cleared and finally dry enough. almost 3 days ago I decided I would install the transfer case on the ground because I no longer have a garage. I spent 6 hours removing the OEM transfer case I then opened the box lifted the Ebay bought unit took off the plastic and realized it's not the correct transfer case it's not even close to the correct one, it's way bigger and way longer than the one I just took off my truck, I then reached out to the seller to let them know they sent me the wrong unit, I took pictures of all angles sent those through the ebay Messager, the seller responded "Ok we will check it" day 2 I reached out again with the question about the next move, I received no reply, day 3 I sent another message asking for some feedback and nothing. Today I look to see there was a response and nothing, so I then try a file for a retune and refund, ebay system message says the seller return date has past you will have to contact the seller. I sent them another message asking for a reply to the situation. I notice ebays fitment guarantee so I tried to file a claim with ebay and every time I try It says to contact the seller. Ebay I have been trying to contact the seller but the seller doesn't reply back, So what do I do now ?, I want to give them an negative Review when it just could be a simple mistake. What are my options please help.
Purchased date: July 6th
Delivery date: July 16th
First message letting them know about the floods: August 24th

Mentor1 week ago@richards4930 I am so sorry that this happened. The eBay Money Back Guarantee and the Fitment guarantee are 30 days from the date of delivery. An eBay agent can't extend this time limit.
Your only option now will be a chargeback with your payment method for an item that is significantly not as described.
