$1200 item returned by Authenticator was never received back by the seller. EBay will not cover loss
I sold and shipped a $1200 piece of jewelry to the authenticator. It was deemed Authentic but not as described due to a tiny stone out of many was described as a sapphire and it was in fact a much more valuable stone. EBay didn't ask the buyer if they still wanted it but returned it to me when I was out of town and out of internet service. The buyer would like to repurchase but I never received it back from EBay. It is showing delivered by USPS and left outside my door (not in my mailbox that drops into my locked garage). EBay say they are not liable and they don't insure returns or shipping forward approved items to buyers, unless the value is over $1500. Can this really be right???

1. Missing Mail and Lost Packages USPS
Wonder why it wasn't shipped back with signature required?
2. File a Police Report
If you can confirm theft (e.g., package was left and taken), contact local law enforcement. Video evidence greatly increases recovery chances — packages with video evidence are about 29% more likely to be solved
