1099-K Threshold for 2025

For 2025, do 1099-K's get issued when gross sales INCLUDING sales tax paid by buyer exceed $2,500? Or do you wait until the item price and buyer paid shipping are greater than $2,500?

Sales taxes paid by the buyers are not included on Forms 1099-K issued by eBay. The threshold for 2025 is $2,500-- at least that's what the rules/regs say now. With the current legislature and pending bills (of various sizes and levels of "beauty"), it seems almost anything might be possible but if that dollar amount changes between now and December 31, 2025 (six months or so) there will be many, many discussions threads here in these eBay Community Forums. Assuming you are a US-based eBay seller. Here's one important detail: Regardless of whether eBay is required to send you a Form 1099-K, YOU are expected to list all your income, from all sources, including eBay, on Form 1040 (or appropriate version).
