1 oz. ESE shipping 82 cents?
I’m having a problem with eBay Standard Envelope since the USPS rate change. I’m purchasing my 1-ounce ESE labels directly through eBay for 78 cents, which I understand is eBay’s current published rate.
One of my shipments was returned to me for insufficient postage. Because I had several more ready to mail, I took them directly to USPS today to make sure I wasn’t doing anything wrong.
USPS weighed them individually at 0.70 oz, 0.60 oz and 0.60 oz, so they’re all well under one ounce. However, USPS said each required 82 cents and charged me an additional 4 cents on each one. I have the USPS receipt documenting the weights, the 78 cents already affixed, and the additional postage charged.
I’m not concerned about getting reimbursed 12 cents. I’m concerned that eBay is selling me 78-cent Standard Envelope labels that USPS is now treating as insufficient postage, because I’ve already had one buyer’s order returned to me.
Can you please verify that 78 cents is currently the correct postage for a 1-ounce eBay Standard Envelope and escalate this to the shipping team if necessary?
