1 of 4 Galaxy Smart Tags purchased is unusable
Summary: lmf42 purchased a package of four Galaxy Smart Tags, but one was already registered to another Samsung account, making it unusable. They faced issues with both Samsung and the seller, abcdeals, who initially promised a refund but later refused due to the report being outside a 3-month period. mr_lincoln suggested filing a return through eBay's Money Back Guarantee, but lmf42 stated they are beyond the 30-day protection after multiple unsuccessful communications with the seller. mr_lincoln recommended filing a dispute with the payment provider.
I purchased a package of 4 Galaxy Smart Tag 2s. 3 of the 4 registered without issue; the 4th stated that it was already associated with another Samsung account, rendering it useless to me. Samsung will NOT unregister so that i can as a security issue, and the vendor (abcdeals) states, "we don't have access to the previous account since it was a different customer." abcdeals has promised a refund but then stated that they could not do anything since I reported it after 3 months (bought Nov 19, 2025, delivered Nov 22, reported Mar 1, 2026), basically 3 months and a week...
Do I have any recourse?

You are protected by the eBay Money Back Guarantee for 30 days from the date of receipt: eBay Money Back Guarantee policy
Go to the item in your Purchase history and file a RETURN using the reason "Does not match pictures or description". eBay will issue you a pre-paid return shipping label regardless of the Seller's return policy. You return the item and the Seller will have 2 days to refund you. Failing that you go back to the claim and ask eBay to step in and force the refund.

OP1 month agoI am beyond the 30 days because I have gone back and forth with the seller several times. At this point, they are just "ghosting" me and have stopped responding.

Yes, they wanted to string you out past the 30 days making it harder for you to get your money back. You will have to file a dispute with your funding source.
